High school scholars compete among best in state

Sixteen area high school students will be competing along with 179 of their peers from throughout the state of Utah Wednesday. They are competing to be considered the best in their field of study in the Deseret News-sponsored Sterling Scholar competition.

Sky View, Logan, Mountain Crest, Bear River and Box Elder high schools have each had students advance past the regional competition where each school sends students to represent 12 different categories, including English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, Foreign Language, Computer Technology, Trade & Technical Education, Family & Consumer Sciences, Business & Marketing, Speech/Drama, Visual Arts, Music, and Dance.
