Canyon Road is closed from 400 East to 1300 East. The creek is running over the road at 1250 East. “It was about [midnight] when the culvert plugged up and water started running down the road,” said Bill Sinykin who lives right by the overflowing creek. “They came and sandbagged it about one, I believe.”

Sinykin’s home sits on the uphill side of the road, away from the flowing creek. “We luckily sit high enough up,” said Sinykin.

The sandbags are doing the job diverting the flow back into the main channel. Farther south along Canyon road the creek laps the base of the bridge as it crosses back under the road.

The weather service predicts cooler temperature and rain. Hopefully the runoff will abate before the rain comes.
