Sky View fined for athletic recruitment violation

“At a Utah High School Activities Association hearing last week, a panel found that Glenn Mortensen, the school’s head swim coach, was in violation of athletic recruitment rules when he contacted a talented Finnish exchange student-athlete prior to the teen’s arrival at the school.”

Sky View Girls win state 200 medley relay

Sky View girls started off strong with the win in the first event, the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53:28 — Mickensi Didericksen, Shaelynn Bodrero, Cassie Wiser, and Laura Mortenson. Logan took 2nd and East 3rd. The SV boys were strong in their 200 medley relay too. Zakk Rhodes, Daniel Cox, Nate Gregory, and Brett Mortenson took 4th place. Mountain Crest won and set a state record with their time 1:37.26.

Sky View girls win 200 medley at swim regionals

The Region 5 Swim Meet held at Mountain Crest High started off well for Sky View with the girl’s team winning the 200 medley — Mickensi Didericksen, Shaelynn Brodrero, Cassie Wiser, Laura Mortensen. It was full of fast races and most everyone seemed to drop time.

Swim team recognizes graduating swimmers

The results of the Sky View vs Ogden swim meet held Thursday afternoon. The final combined team scores were Sky View 240 to Ogden 96. For the women the scores were Sky View 127 and Ogden 40. For the men it was Sky View 113 to Ogden 56. During the half-time break the nine graduating senior swimmers were recognized.
