A vacant building collapsed Thursday night in Richmond, bringing emergency crews from throughout the valley to the north Cache town and knocking down some power lines while shutting down U.S. Highway 91 for a time.

The building, located at 15 S. 200 West, collapsed just before 7 p.m., Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Chad Jensen said. A sheriff’s deputy was in the parking lot of the Maverik country store just north of the building collapse at the time and called the collapsed building in.
