The Sky View boys lacrosse team started their preseason play this last weekend by going to Las Vegas for the Best of the West tournament. After a tough first game against Legacy — a Vegas powerhouse — the Bobcats played Copper Hills Saturday morning in a back and forth game game that ended in a 10-9 win.

Chris Morrill had the game winning goal with a couple of minutes left. Goalie Chris (Shield) Cannell had two game saving saves before time expired.

Sky View’s next game was against the Centenial Bulldogs, another Vegas team that is always very good. The Bulldogs took an early lead and held off a second half rally to beat the Bobcats.

The last game of the tournament was against Park City. Sky View took an early lead but couldn’t hold on for the win. Sky View now heads to Boise this weekend for the Table Rock Shootout. The Bobcats will take both JV teams and their varsity team.
