Lady Bobcats shred Tigers for Cancer Awareness Night
The Lady Cat’s were pretty in pink tonight when they took the floor in honor of cancer awareness night. The entire team got a chance to see some floor time as Sky View spent four quarters systematically dismantling the Tigers from Ogden.
The Sky View Bobcats came into tonight’s game at 10-7 (8-3 Region), facing a struggling Ogden team that entered the Sky View gym at 2-15 (1-10 Region). After taking team pictures in their snazzy pink uniforms the Bobcats methodically kept the Tigers at bay as they scored first and little by little built and insurmountable lead as the night went on.
Dannika Webb didn’t see as much playing time as usual in the first half but made the most of her time on the floor in the second half. After a scoreless first half, Webb had the hot hands leading the Cats in scoring with her 16 second half points, 12 of which came on four 3-point shots that she drained from behind the arc.
Tara Goldman also had an impressive night for Sky View scoring in double digits with her 13 points, going 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
Ten different players scored for Sky View including Maddie Day who put up 9 points. Whitney Alvey and Maury Beorchia each scored 3-point baskets in the contest.
The Bobcats went to the free throw line six times shooting 5-of-12. The dismal 41.6% shooting from the charity stripe was about the only thing that went poorly for Sky View.
Sky View sent the Tigers to the line fifteen times including one technical shot. Ogden ended up shooting 10-of-26 finishing 38.5% from the line. Rachel Shaw was the only Tiger in double digits with 12 points.
The Lady Bobcats will be back in action next Tuesday at home when they face their valley rivals Mountain Crest at Sky View on the 8th of February. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
