The Logan High Grizzlies came to play tonight and turned in a tough defensive showing. Logan put a scare into Sky View players and fans in the first half of the game building an eight point lead before Sky View fought their way back pulling within one just before half. In the second half Sky View continued to chisel away at Logan, eventually building a second half lead that they would not relinquish.

For the first couple of minutes of the game the two teams put up some even scoring with Logan going up by a few points and then Sky View fighting back to within one or two. This see-saw battle went on for a while before the Grizzlies built a seven point lead to close out the first quarter.

The second quarter was more of the same with Logan maintaining their lead for the first couple of minutes of the quarter. With just under six minutes left in the quarter Sky View began to whittle away at that lead a basket at a time. The Bobcats cut the lead down to six when Grayson Moore was fouled on a 3-point shot. Moore hit 2-of-3 from the line on that trip to the stripe starting off the Sky View comeback. On the next trip down the floor Jordan Nielsen went to the line where he drained1-of-2 free throws continuing to close the gap. With 42 seconds left in the second quarter Casey Oliverson added two points that brought the Bobcats to within a point. The Cats headed to the locker room with the Grizzlies leading 23-22.

In the third quarter the Grizzlies relinquished the lead but refused to roll over for Sky View. Each time the Bobcats built a small margin of a lead the Grizzlies would claw their way back.

With just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter a 5-2 Bobcat run put the score at 31-36 Sky View. Great pressure defense and aggressive rebounding gave the Cats some good opportunities, and helped them to maintain their lead and seal the victory with a final score of 37-42.

Leading the scoring for Sky View was Grayson Moore with 13 points. Moore drained 2, 3-point shots and was 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. Casey Oliverson had 11 points, hitting five from the floor and going 1-of-4 from the stripe. Oliverson was helped on the boards by a busy and tenacious Jordan Nielsen who battled for rebounds and was knocked to the floor on many occasions. Nielsen added nine points hitting 3, 2-point baskets and put up four more points from the free-throw line going 4-of-5. Riley Knowles put in 2 from behind the arc to add six points. Knowles added another bucket bringing his total to eight points for the night. Knowles was 0-for-1 from the line. The final point was added by Ty Nielsen who went 1-for-4 from the free-throw line.

The Logan Grizzlies were lead in scoring by Sage Nyman, Devin Cannon, and Josh Sadler who each had eight points. Russell Murphy had the only 3-point basket for Logan.

The Bobcats will be back in action Friday night when they take the court against the Box Elder Bee’s for the final home game of the season. Friday night will be “Senior Night” where the senior players will be honored for their many great years as Sky View Bobcats. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
