In a shocking development after a very successful season and having devoted many years as the Sky View Girls Head Basketball Coach, Paul Hansen announced on Friday, April 8th that he was relinquishing his coaching duties. Hansen cited a difference of opinion on the direction of the program between the coaching staff and administration as a contributing factor in his decision.

Hansen stepping down is the second head coaching position vacated at Sky View following a seemingly successful season. Earlier in the year Head Wrestling coach Kyle Wright stepped down citing demands on his time with a young family and duties relating to teaching and involvement in the Track and Cross Country programs at Sky View, as well as the desire from the administration to take the wrestling team in a new direction.

Wright’s wrestling team had a back to back state champion in Brayden Anderson, while Hansen’s teams have been an annual fixture at the State Championship Tournament making it to the Semi-Final game in this year’s tournament.
