Kelly Cannon at the Herald Journal wrote a great article about the seven candidates vying for two seats on the Smithfield City Council. With the primary election less than two weeks away, it’s a great overview and a worthwhile read.

Building a new library, improving businesses and making Smithfield the best city in the state are just three of the focuses the candidates for Smithfield City Council have as they gear up for the primary election Aug. 13. The seven candidates are all running for two open spots on the council. Four of them will move on to run in the general election Nov. 5.
